Karate for Kids
There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the Martial Arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids called Karate for Kids. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as:
Goals Friendship Dedication Perseverance
Self-Control Confidence Self-Esteem Self-Improvement
Courtesy Self Awareness Integrity Respect

In addition to monthly themes, our system includes the unique victory patch. Kids are rewarded special "victory stars." These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home, or at a tournament competition. As the Kids receive more stars, different colored victory patches are available to signify their accomplishments.

The Karate for Kids program is intended for children between the ages of 7 and 17. To sign up your child or request more information, please feel free to contact us.

Tiny Tigers

In addition to our internationally recognized Karate for Kids program, we offer the Taekwondo for Tiny Tigers Program. The Tiny Tiger program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 3 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All classes are taught using the most safe, fun and exciting instruction methods available for this age group. This program works in conjunction with the Karate for Kids program, thereby emphasizing the same important monthly themes and values.

Just like the Karate for Kids program, Tiny Tigers have their own unique victory patch and "victory stars". Stars are earned in the same way as the Karate for Kids program, with slight modifications in recognition of the preschool age of the child. Four different colored victory patches are available to accomodate all the stars that can be earned by a high achieving Tiny Tiger.

The rank and testing system used by our Tiny Tigers is slightly different than the system used in our other programs. Tiny Tigers ranks go from "Tiny Tiger White Belt" to "Tiny Tiger Black Belt". A Tiny Tiger who makes it all the way to Tiny Tiger Black Belt will convert to a Yellow Belt when they turn 7 and move up to the Karate for Kids age group. Any other rank below black converts to Orange Belt when moving up to the Karate for Kids age group.

The Tiny Tigers program is intended for children ages 3 to 6. To sign up your child or request more information, please feel free to contact us.

Taekwondo for Adults

We train our students to the best of their ability. All adults are welcome to participate in the Taekwondo for Adults program. Our students are looked at as individuals, each with their own goals and desires that may be different than other students. All that we require is a willingness to try and a heart to learn. From your adult Taekwondo training, you can expect the following benefits:

Fitness - The principles of Taekwondo techniques are based on the design of your body. For power you develop the larger, powerful muscles of the torso. The speed of the techniques comes from the fast, agile muscles of the arms and legs. As you progress in Taekwondo you will learn to coordinate this speed and power, and develop a concentration to focus all of your body's strength into a small, hard striking surface like the edge of the hand or the heel of the foot.

Self-Defense - When the speed and power developed through Taekwondo is used in a self-defense situation against soft vulnerable parts of an attacker's body, the result can be incredible. Taekwondo allows a woman to emphasize many of her natural physical strengths, such as power in the legs, while learning a method of self-defense efficient against a much larger opponent. Knowing you can defend yourself, your confidence will grow. And confidence alone is usually enough to deter potential attackers.

Self-Confidence - This does not come naturally for many people, but self-confidence can be developed over a period of time. Through Taekwondo, as you accomplish new goals, your confidence level increases. Taekwondo instills a sense of discipline and self-confidence that can carry over to all aspects of your life.

The Taekwondo for Adults and Teens program is intended for all adults of any age. To sign up for a class or request more information, please feel free to contact us.

Black Belt Club

The Black Belt Club Program is a specially developed program by the ATA for all students regardless of age or rank. It represents the highest level of our "Success through Goal Setting" philosophy. Black Belt Club members are those individuals who have set their goal at "Black Belt" and make a committment to study and train until achieving that goal.

All Black Belt Club Members are able to attend weekly BBC Classes which train each student at a higher level toward their Black Belt. Protech weapons, Advanced Pressure Point Control, Joint Locks, and Advanced Sparring are just some of the Black Belt Level aspects taught in these classes. This enables the student to make more advanced progress toward being a Black Belt and a leader.

Masters Club

The Masters Club program is for those students with high dedication and a great black belt attitude. Students who are invited to join the program train to be a higher rank black belt student, a Jr. Trainee Instructor, or a Trainee Instructor. This program is also for students that one day hope to become a Master Teacher within the ATA.

All Masters Club Members are able to attend weekly Master Club Classes which train each student at a higher level toward their higher degrees of Black Belt . Protech weapons, Advanced Pressure Point Control, Joint Locks, and Advanced Sparring are just some of the Higher Level aspects taught in these classes. This enables the student to make more advanced progress toward being a Black Belt and a leader.

Once a student reaches 1st degree Black Belt they should sign up for either the Masters Club or Leadership club.

Once enrolled in the Masters Club, Black Belt Club, or Leadership clubs, students may choose to participate in any one of the following programs:

S.W.A.T.
This is our Special Winning Attitude Team. It is a select group of students from our Black Belt Club or Masters Club who serve as role models and teacher's assistants. Their responsibility is to lead by example, exemplifying the behavior, character and motivation of a tip top Black Belt.

Junior Trainee Instructor Program
This program's mission is to build future leaders of America for a better tomorrow. The program was devised in order to allow children, ages 8-15 to prepare themselves for the Trainee Instructor Program. It also aims to keep interest up and gives a broader outlook for the students to draw upon.

Trainee Instructor Program
This program is for any student ages 16 and above to prepare them for instructor certification. Trainee instructors are people who enjoy teaching others or who are interested in a career in the martial arts.
